Behr Granite Grip

Hello,

I'm planning on redoing my front patio with Behr Granite Grip and was curious about surface prep.

I plan to etch the surface as per instructions. But prior the patio was covered with outdoor carpet. So there was some glue down. I've done a pretty good job removing what I can. I scrapped and sanded what I could. I'm curious if whats left is ok to paint over. I was sanding it like crazy what couldn't be scrapped off so its fairly smooth. feels like its flush with the concrete.

Here's some pics of the worst spots.

I'm not familiar with that particular coating but it looks like you have the adhesive removed ok. Muratic acid will not affect any areas that are sealed with adhesive, it will only work on the bare masonry.

if you're satisfied w/not removing all of the glue, you'll not be upset at the eventual lifting of the coating,,, rent a 7" diamond grinder & buy a turbo diamond cup wheel then grind ALL the glue off,,, we do this work often & never etch - either for wtr-bas'd OR solvent bas'd coatings
