What patching material to use
My terrace floor had some hollow sounding, raised spots with hairline cracks that took longer to dry after it rained so I broke them open and now the aggregate is exposed and I have to choose a patch. The concrete patch instructions said it's best for under 1/2" and the fast setting cement patch is good from 1/4" to 2". Most of the edge of the hole is shallower than 1/4". Should I chisel out that shallow area so it's at least 1/4" deep then use the cement patch? I bought Sakrete fast setting cement patcher but I could still return it.

This is what my local concrete supplier recommends. I have some spalling on my driveway and hopefully get to it this year.
It's the only exterior product they say will survive!

Marq, I'm not familiar with that product, but it's instructions say: TamSeal 10F should not be left unprotected, but covered by tiles or other protective coatings.

The data sheet for Quikrete Vinyl Concrete Patcher says "Do not use with Concrete Acrylic Fortifier, Concrete Bonding Adhesive or other bonding agents." Which has me a little worried because I think I want to resurface the terrace eventually to even out the color and I hope the resurfacer will stick.
