Concrete over concrete
this is probably a bad idea, but thought i would check.
basically i want to concrete my patio area which is current a mix of grassed, paved and a long horrid concrete path going through it. i could have it all removed, but would be costly. or i was thinking i could concrete over the existing pathway, which is around 1 metre wide. [raising it by maybe 2cm in some parts]. the pavers and grassed area are deeper down, so thickness isn't a problem.
i can't go higher than 2cm due to the backdoor & the new concrete will be done in sections that has both pathway and currently grass or pavers underneath to maximize strength
good idea, bad idea? or would it most likely crack?

One of the masonry pros should be along with a more detailed analysis, but yes, it will crack. Putting less than an inch of concrete over existing concrete won't hold up.
If you can post some pics, that would help.

It may be a lot of work to properly prep the site but it will be even more work when you have to remove the "attempted" job in addition.
