Muriatic acid helped. Why did no one respond.

You said muriatic acid helped. did it take it off or only help.
And it is not unreasonable to wait a couple of days for a reply.

Thank you tightcoat,..and czzizi
..my bad.
I Thought I had provided sufficient information..and photo.
i would have answered any questions of follow up which anyone might have had, but no one volunteered to pursue the question further. thats ok. It was a few days I waited.finally frustrated I just went and got the acid and plunged ahead.
muriatic acid btook it all off. I used the muriatic acid full strength..dabbing it on with a paintbrush, letting it bubble and react to the lime like scaly stain. And then I used a scrubbie pad. Did this three times to remove a bit at a time.
I came back to post my results to help others who may have encountered such like problems.
many thanks.

Since the acid often soaks deep into the grout, you may experience further problems (staining and/or disintegration of grout) due to using it full strength and if you did not neutralize it with an alkali wash or at least an AWFUL LOT of water rinse. You should never use it full strength. Hopefully that will also help anyone who reads this thread in the future.
