Asphalt Resurfacing Issues
Recently had my driveway resurfaced and there are several dips along the length of it. You can't tell by looking at it because it's new and on a slope but if you drive on it you can definitely feel the waves. Also there are several creases that were made by the edge of the steam roller.
Has anyone encountered these same issues? How did you get them fixed?
thanks

If there is left over cold asphalt does the contractor take a loss when they return it to the plant?
The reason I ask is because the last 20 feet of my driveway is a lot thicker than the previous 87 feet.
The contractor had also made a comment before he left that he had estimated 43 tons and had only about 4 tons left over.

Usually if the end is thicker..... the water won't run over it as it's a high spot.
I'd say he estimated pretty good if he only 4 tons left on a 43 ton order.

Thicker is probably better, many of the cut rate pavers do the opposite and spread it too thin. I don't know what happens to any leftover asphalt although I'm sure the plant doesn't buy it back. When I lived in fla and the state was paving a highway near me a driver stopped by and gave me 5 ton of leftover asphalt. Not sure I got a good deal as it was really a job to try and finish spreading it and packing it without the proper equipment.
