Exposed Rebar

In a concrete slab is there any concern if there are some exposed ends of the horizontal rebar. I am thinking of rust that might affect the concrete and spread. Someone tell me that I am all wet just like my freshly poured slab Thanks

Where is the rebar exposed? If it's on the side it isn't that big of a deal. Primer/paint should alleviate any rust concerns.

Thanks mark. It's on the sides, the horizontal ends of 3/8 rebar. That was one of my thoughts was to give it a good coat of primer and a gob of silicone or something. it's not that many spots.

Was the rebar purposely left long for possibly extending the slab? How far does the rebar protrude?

Depending on how far the rebar sticks out I would cut it off so it doesn't attack shins or ankles as people walk by.
