Tiered patio with steps

We are planning to pour a 10'x10' foot concrete pad. This will be a tier to our existing patio. The contractor is also wanting to pour the steps from the upper patio to the 10'x10' at the same time. My concern is the weight of the 4 steps will be resting on the corner of the 10'x10' slab up against the house and the wall for the upper patio. Both are brick and mortar. Should I be concerned about all the weight?

Thanks,
Mike

The 3 steps will be replaced with 4 steps.

I doubt they would be poured at once, the steps need to be framed down to the ground. The patio would then be poured around the steps.

The steps will go down to the slab. He's planning to do all of the pour with the same truck load.

So then the steps really wont be sitting on the slab, just part of the slab!

As long as the ground is compacted so there is a solid base!

Could just forgo the concrete steps and build a set that would sit on the slab!
