Walking stones path in backyard

Guys - what is the best way to replicate these walking paths which are supposed to be good for your health in Taipei in my backyard? I have a 15 x 3 feet section that I can devote for this purpose

I've seen similar walkways in Japan as well. I don't like the big stones in your picture. That's just asking for a twisted ankle but smaller ones do feel good under your bare feet. I saw some workers repairing a section in a Japanese garden in Vancouver last year.

Pour a concrete walkway. Then insert the stones into a wet bed of mortar. You can use a grout bag to squeeze extra mortar between the stones if needed. Then use a small, fine pointed finishing trowel or large artists trowel to finish the surface of the mortar.
