Question Extend electrical boxes before tiling?

JUst ordered the tile for the back splash in my kitchen. There are numerous outlets and plugs that I have bought box extenders for one of them being a 4-gang.
My question is should I extend the boxes before tiling or after laying the tile?

After, so the tabs will sit on top of the tile.

Be sure when you tile that the tiles do not overhang into the box opening.
A GFI needs the full box clearance to fit.

I just did a job where I had to grind the tiles in front of five boxes.
