Flooring over broom finished concrete
We are preparing to have an existing patio with a broom finish converted to a 4 season sunroom. I am going to be responsible for flooring and trying to figure out the best option. I have some ideas below but would like feedback about which of these would be the best option considering we are looking at something that will be fairly easy to do at a low cost. Also open to other ideas. We will probaby use a cheaper flooring for now such as peel and stick vinyl or indoor/outdoor carpeting.
1) Put down plastic membrane, then plywood subfloor (nailing it to the concrete) and then adding flooring on top of that.
2) Have someone come in and sand/grind down the finish on the concrete then add flooring directly to it.
3) Have someone add a thin layer of concrete to refinish it with a smooth finish and then add flooring
4) It is not that rough of a broom finish- is it possible to add peel and stick flooring directly to it?
Other options?
