Attaching Iron Gate to split face block.

Hi,
Any suggestions for attaching an Iron Gate to split face block? I have two columns that I want to put an iron gate between. I am not sure how I can get it even, with the uneven faces of the split face block. Any help, suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would drill the wall to accept mollies and bolts. You can use shims behind your gate frame to square and straighten it as needed. I've also seen it done with mortar. You position the frame where you want it with a gap between frame and wall. Then you pack the gap with mortar and let it harden. Then tighten the mounting bolts the last, tiny bit to snug it in place. It's obviously more work but there is no gap between your frame and masonry.

Great Idea

Thanks Pilot. That is a great idea with the mortar. I am going to try it.
