Hey folks looking for a little advice. I've had a custom bunkie made that is 9'x12' that is set to arrive in a couple of weeks.
as you can tell from the pic, we are looking for a cheap fix to support the middle of the Bunkie. Stone, concrete, cinder?
If you are talking about a storage building are you sure the middle needs any support? Does your building come with a floor or do you have to provide that?
would contact the manufacturer and see what the floor joist is and spacing to see if you need more support or not if you do really no way to access it once installed so would probably just do concrete and blocks.
Why do you think it needs support in the middle? Did the building's manufacturer spec or require it? 9' wide is pretty narrow and I would be surprised if your building needs support except for the perimeter.
I wasn't certain as I am a novice DIYer. I suppose if the joists are where they should there should be no problems. The manufacturer claimed he couldn't rest the bunkie on the foundation I made. I thought that's what he did for a living!
I suggested something like this with a few metal poles to slide it on?
"The manufacturer claimed he couldn't rest the bunkie on the foundation I made." That's a footer and foundation wall fitting for a house. I am really curious why he can't use it. Is it that it doesn't provide support where the building will need? Or does he not know how to set the building on top of it?
My guess is they have a off road forklift device. In my area they are used when delivering storage sheds. It relies on them being able to drive where they want where they then set the building down on "blocks". Your continuous foundation wall might prevent them from driving in like they are accustomed. Your idea with the metal post as a roller could work though you will need more rollers.
So who is libel?
"In 2015, a lawsuit alleged building management failed to maintain an outside wall, resulting in water damage and cracks. The owner who filed that suit had previously sued over the same issue, according to a court filing. The management company paid for damages in the earlier case, according to records."
DIY brain trust-
I had the walkway to my house mudjacked as the concrete sections were settling unevenly and were causing a tripping hazard. I didn't realize that the patches left behind wouldn't match better to the existing concrete.
Is there anything I can do to blend all these patches in better to the existing concrete? Maybe make them darker?
Thanks!
