My polka-dot, mudjacked, concrete walkway

DIY brain trust-

I had the walkway to my house mudjacked as the concrete sections were settling unevenly and were causing a tripping hazard. I didn't realize that the patches left behind wouldn't match better to the existing concrete.

Is there anything I can do to blend all these patches in better to the existing concrete? Maybe make them darker?

Thanks!

You can buy concrete paint. I guess any color you want. We used to paint the fire station floor red. I'm pretty sure you can get it in black if you choose.
They also stain concrete. All the concrete stain I've ever seen was tan/brown. I don't know about the process of staining. If that's of interest to you, I'm sure others here can offer advise in staining as well as painting etc.

I would try cleaning first. A spritz of a degreasing cleaner like Purple Power or Simple Green over the entire walkway and then pressure wash. You can also try a diluted (maybe 2:1 or 3:1) solution of household bleach and then pressure wash or hose off.

Pilot Dane-
So you're thinking clean the stone steps to lighten them to match the patches? Is that correct?

Dixie....will look into staining. Unfortunately I doubt our HOA will allow it, but something to consider.

Thanks!

Cleaning the existing concrete will lighten it up, you want to used a power washer with a plate cleaner, no chemicals required

The patches are brand new they will darken some but will always be visible, it's just what you get with these kind of repairs!

As noted above cleaning will help, so will time. Even if you do nothing those spots will be less noticeable a yr from now. I'm not fond of painting concrete walkways, patios and such. Stain is a lot better choice.
