Somebody drag a leaking bag of garbage down the sidewalk and it left this stain on the concrete. Not sure what substance leaked, perhaps fish blood mixed with other substances/fluid but not sure. I tried pressure washing it off with a strong pressure washer but it couldn't clean it off. Any suggestions appreciated. I know there are concrete cleaner products, never tried any though. The caps on my 25+ yr old wall in places have come loose where the wall had been filled and in a 330' section I needed to remove the caps so as the empty block could be filled. The unfilled wall had steel running through it but had never been filled. Now all that is done and I have to put the caps back on. I am hoping to keep as much of the original patina to the wall as possible so I do not want to knock all the mortar out and put new caps on. Not sure I want to glue them back either and in some areas the mortar is gone and I would like to replace it with mortar. I am hoping to hear about others experiences with this like: Giving the mortar a bit of color, Getting the caps back on using some kind of mortar mix/slurry and how well that will stick to the old stuff. Would it be worth adding latex to the mix cost vs aging wall? Here are some pictures of the wall.
