Cleaning stone retaining wall

What can I use to clean my stone retaining wall at my house.

It has some sort of discoloration that I am looking to make nicer. Is this just mineral deposits?

the wall is versa lok (or another similar brand)

That's effervescent, salty water that flows through the stone, evaporates, and leaves the salt residue behind.

You should be able to hose it off, maybe a brush or even a pressure washer!

It's a sign you don't have the right drainage behind the wall so know in advance it's going to come back.

Thank you both! Iíll try hosing it off first and if that doesnít work I can try pressure washing it. Just wanted to make sure I didnít need any cleaner or anything to help.

as for the drainage, there is a lot of gravel behind it, but I donít see any pipe or anything. Itís only 3í-4í tall but we do have a lot of clay soil. Hopefully it doesnít come back too quickly!

Gravel allows the water a place to easily go but without a drain pipe there is no way for the water to exit. The effervescence will come back I doubt it will just hose off. TSP or laundry detergent and a brush should remove it.
