I recently put in a patio with pavers. After going through the process very carefully and following all the recommended precedures, everytime it rains the sand washes out and I have to keep replacing it. I noticed that my pitch maybe a little steep by professional standards. Is there a coating or something I can put over the seams to contain the sand. I also heard of some people washing mortar in the seams and letting it set. But that sounds kinda risky to me. Any sugesstions would be appreciated

If the edge restraints are tight & below the paver bed; the underlying soil is firm, and the joints are narrower, more sand, water with a hose, repeat, until the sand is fully compacted.

Hello
yes cemente.....next time add a little cemente to the dry sand and broom it in lightly wash it down removing the cement from the top of the brick, sand will stay and not make it a morter job...just a nice hard sand finish...Good Luck
