it looks like i'll need enough dry mix to make about 6 cubic feet of slab. i don't want to start and not have enough product on site. can someone tell me how many pounds i should have on hand?

phillydave,
I'm not an expert but have done a few concrete steps and stone walls. A 60 lb. bag of concrete will yield nearly a cubic foot of volume. I'd consider making the slab slightly thicker, to 4' or more. I'd just buy 8 or 9 bags and use 'em up to the form top.
