basement window leaks

Unhappy basement window leaks

My basement window leaks from a crack in the sill. The sill is at ground level. How should I repair this crack, and what should I use. I can see the crack on the outside and I can see where it comes in on the inside it seems to be a direct line.

Cracks in basement walls

Large cracks can be filled with hydraulic cement or epoxy.

Correct defects: Soil should be lower than the sill and landscape sloped to carry water away from the foundation of the home. Make sure gutters and downspouts are clear and carrying water away from the foundation and are not missing or need repairs
Soil level should be at least 6 inches below the mudsill of your home. http://www.cornerhardware.com/html/articles/art44.htm
