Concrete questions...

Does anyone know how thin your floor application of concrete can be? The area is a small area(an old bathroom) and I don't think the old carpentry will hold 2" of concrete.

Also, in a small area, are joints neccesary?

Thanks!

Why do you need 2 inches of concrete on your bathroom floor? Are you putting tile down?I would not reccommend pouring concrete on your floor. If it's tile your going to be laying then I believe thin-set is your answer.

Oh I am not laying tile...just straight concrete floors. Then I intend to acid stain them.

Well I've never poured a bathroom floor but I would think you need to check your support underneath to prevent sinking, cracking, etc.I'm not sure what your floor can hold but I would defenetely use a wire lath/mesh in between the pour
