68 Dodge Power Wagon

68 Dodge Power Wagon
I am seriously considering selling my restoration project as I am moving and have no funds to finish my restoration plans before I move out of province. My decision was cemented once I read how tough some of the out of province vehicle inspections can be.
My question is what would my truck be worth if I try and sell it?
I know I will never recover my money, thousands, but how do you determine the criteria on asking price for a classic truck. Here are some details in case anyone can help.
68 Dodge Fargo Power Wagon. Short Box, 318, 4.09 gears, 4spd tranny and transfer case, 8000lb p.t.o. winch, many spare parts, great shape, very little rust.
Purchased in 1998.
Complete Ground Off Restoration in 2001.
Some trail acquired character marks since then.
One Accident, but most people can't even tell.
Needs new tires, a few other items, battery as it has not run consistently in a year.
I also have a long box in great shape on a rolling frame that I intended to convert into a matching trailer to pull behind me.
What do you think?
Sincerely,
Randy

Place an AD!!!
"1968 Dodge Fargo Power Wagon. Short Box, 318, 4.09 gears, 4spd tranny and transfer case, 8000lb p.t.o. winch, many spare parts, great shape, very little rust." Restoration project. Moving, must sell. Over $_____ INVESTED.
Best Offer Accepted.
Put that in the paper, and a buyer or two will show up that knows things about this kind of truck, and its value. (Probably more than a few.) If 2 or more offer you about the same money for it, that is PROBABLY pretty close to what it is worth. (At least to the PUBLIC anyway.) Unless you can find someone looking for JUST THAT MODEL, then they will often times pay CRAZY money for them..But they are few and VERY FAR between.
Good luck with it.

You might try posting an ad with http://www.oldautos.ca/. Would reach a concentrated audience of enthusiasts.

Sorry Randy,
It must be a tough desicion
But in your situation, I'm sure it's the right one
Right now we are in a state of Mopar Madness
Old Dodges that a few years ago you couldn't give away with glove box full of beer and pizza coupons are getting jaw dropping prices
It hasn't totally filtered over to the trucks yet
I guess we want our cars old but our trucks new
But still it's a good time to sell anything Dodge
That would be really hard to say w/o seeing it
Power wagons go for 3K to 30K (US)
With restored ones being in the upper half
I suspect you could find a buyer in the 10K-20K range (US)
But you will definately want to do more than a local ad in the local paper
I'd pick up a copy of Hemming Motor News and see what trucks like yours are selling for
You may want to post an ad there and find someone who appreciates the work already into the truck, or has been looking for one, and will pay for it

Without doubt the easiest way to find out what the truck is worth is to put it on ebay. Take some good photos and write a good description on what was done, what it needs and if you have a number in mind make that a reserve price. Start the bids low so people bid and sit back. It will cost about 100 dollars to place an ad like that but it should easily be worth it. Good luck
