97 Isuzu Rodeo

I am looking at a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo, V6 with 151,000Kms on it for $3800ca. Are there any common problems that always happen with these trucks or anything I should be aware of? Or are they generally a good vehicle to drive and maintain? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
AB

Consumer reports describes it as have disappointing performance, sloppy handling, and considerable body lean. The ride is described as stiff and bouncy. A redesign in '98 improved some of the areas. Weak areas for the '97 model year are the electrical system and "body integrity". "Offset" crash test result is "Poor".

Measure it with a micrometer; cut it with an ax.

A difficult vehicle to DIY repair
Prone to rust out if you are in an area where they salt the roads in the winter

That's probably what they mean by "body integrity".
