Need Help Selling
I could use some help in suggestions on trying to sell my 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. I've tried to sell it through ebay, through an ad in the newspaper, and on cars.com. So far I have had very little response to my ads and no luck in selling it. I live in a small town about an hour for any city with a population of 50,000+, which i think is part of the problem because there isn't many customers in the direct vacinity to sell to. The vehicle is in perfect running condition, I just odn't need it. Any suggestions on how I can sell it quickly and easily for a reasonable price?

Just fro grins I searched autotrader.com for your year and model and came up with 264 hits. Price range is $3900-9999 with an average of $8536 which is about what Kelly Blue book says it's worth. Make sure you are pricing it competitively and try some other ad sources, such as autotrader.com.

Also keep in mind there is a glut of used sport-utes on the market right now
The gas prices last summer made a lot of people drop them like plutonium potatoes
The market for them also shrunk
A lot of people wanting to buy a used 'ute got them for super-cheap a few months ago
Also a lot of people wanting to buy a used 'ute changed their minds after last summer
Such a glut means it will take longer to sell
And you may have to adjust your expected price
