selling with a lien question
I have a 2005 Harley Im trying to sell. Ive only had it for a little over a year and still making payments on it through Harley. Now I wish to sell it. How do I go about selling it to someone when it still has a lien on it? I have no idea how that works. It seems kind of wierd to me to sell something to someone and not being able to give them the title. Please Help

You will have to make arrangements through the Finance company to have whoever buys it, sign the paperwork just as if they were buying it from a dealer. This will cover the amount owed on the bike. They may not agree to do this if the buyer does not have good credit. Good luck.
Note: Do not try to skirt the issue of transfer by doing a "behind the scenes" sale. The bike will belong to you and you are responsible for anything that happens to it while your name is on the payment papers.

What if the buyer has the cash, gives it to me to pay off the lien to get the title? That would mean he would have to give me the money and hope I give him the title when it comes in right? How does one trust that. Is there paperwork that can be done to ensure him on his part that he will get the title?
I know I would would feel wiered if i was buyer
