Station wagons

Are any of 'em still making wagons?
I've seen the Nissan/Kia/Honda shoe boxes and hear they get good gas mileage, but I fancy a wagon.
Any suggestions? No VW, thanks.

Pretty much overtaken by the SUV craze.

Is the dodge magnum considered a station wagon? I saw a ford taurus station wagon the other day that was only a few years old - maybe special order?? I'm sure they don't make many for the reason TG stated and because of mini vans.

Thanks, guys. I'm told Suzuki makes one; but - no Suzuki dealer for miles from New Bedford area.
Guess I'll go find one from a little old lady from Pasadena.

On the Magnum I think it depends on who you ask. I would call it a station wagon, but I doubt an owner would.

Are the Toyota Venza or Honda Crosstour considered station wagons? I don't think the Dodge Magnum is being made any longer. I think the mini-vans pretty much killed off most station wagons, and the newer crossover utility vehicles are the finishing touch.

Here is my list of station wagons available in the USA and I'll skip VW:
Subaru Legacy
Subaru Outback
Audi A3
Audi A4 and A6 Avant
BMW 328 Wagon
Mercedes E350
Mercedes R350 (they don't call it a wagon... but it's a wagon)
and apparently Ford will be trying again in 2012 but it probably will not be available in the USA
