DEET: 3M Ultrathon Question ?

Hello:

Have pretty well decided on getting the DEET product from 3M called Ultrathon.

Guess it comes in two versions: a 30% strength lotion, or a 23 % aerosol spray.

Any opinions if there would be any "meaningful" differences regarding effectiveness between the two ?

I guess I prefer the spray for convenience, but would like the stronger formulation; hence this post.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,

I doubt there would be much difference in the effectiveness.
I prefer the aerosol because my hands are seldom clean when outdoors and don't want to transfer the dirt to my skin.
Also, our mosquitos are thick enough right now that if I don't wear a head net, repellant needs to be applied to the hair.

Just be sure to hold your breath and walk away from the mist when spraying the head.

I prefer the lotion over the spray. Both work well, and the more DEET the better, but the spray to me just seems so wasteful. I just see the money I spent on the stuff floating away in the wind, and only a minor amount has adhered to my skin...

RepelŪ Lemon Eucalyptus

lotion sticks better.

It wears off quickly, regardless of concentration. So, the most effective one is the handiest one to reapply. And it only postpones the bites if left in the car.
