I have just finished building my son's new toy box, but am leary of him smashing his fingers on the lid (2'x4'x3/4" birch plywood) so I wanted to install pneumatic closers on each side to "soften the blow." Unfortunately, I am having trouble find ones smaller than the typical screen door closers which are around 17" long. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking something around the size of the closers that are attached to the hood of my car. Maybe even a little smaller. Thanks. Mike

Hi All. This is going to be a weird question, but I don't know where else to start... I've always been fascinated by wood furniture, and I'm extremely interested in woodworking and furniture-building as a hobby, especially now that I own my first home. But I am completely lost as to where to begin in terms of tools needed and what types of projects are beginner-friendly. Put it this way, the only tools I own are a screwdriver, a hammer, a power drill, and a power trim saw... :( Can anyone suggest a good "starter set" of tools, and ideas for beginning projects? (I've already built heavy-duty shelves with 2x4s and plywood.) Appreciate the help.
