Selecting router bit size
Hi,
I'm new to routers and I'd like to put a Ogee edge on a piece of 4x3/4 stock. The book I have says to use a 3/4" Ogee but I think this is an approximation as most Ogee bits are 5/8". This is the correct size for 3/4" thick stock since the Ogee does not generally cut quite the whole vertical distance, correct?
Thanks

When you hold the bit against the stock, will it produce the edge you desire? If so, go ahead. You are correct in that the ogee bit does not always cut the bottom of the ogee. Of course, the acid test is to cut a test piece and decide if it is what you want.
Hope this helps.
