Knots showing through white paint?

I am getting ready to paint an (unfinished pine) dresser. I am concerned that the knots will show through the WHITE paint. What can I do to prevent this? Do I primer it first? How many coats of paint?

Cool

Seal all knots with a good sander/primer sealer like Benjamin Moore SPS, Kilz, etc., then prime the whole dresser, and paint it.
Good Luck!
