Raised floor/mini deck - is this possible?

Is this possible and what is involved? Thanks for your sharing your thoughts.

In a corner of my kids' playroom, I'd like to build (have built is more like it) a 4' x 6' platform/deck raised off the carpeted floor by 2'. The area on top will be used for general play or perhaps a desk and space underneath will be for toy storage. A step stool will be used for access to the raised deck and surrounding short rails will keep the kids safety. Estimated maximum weight is 400 pounds.

Rather than a step stool, create steps that run the full 4' dimension, similar to platforms found in some churches. 3 steps 7" rise each should do it. It would be safer.

sure it is possible--just be sure to overbuild it a bit cause the wear and tear kids will give it will challenge the structure a bit.Use strong wood, plenty of bracing, etc.
