Change cabinet doors only ?

5 year old condo with all white cabinets. In great condition. Just want a new look. Can I just replace the doors ?

What do I do about the white on the cabinets themselves?
Can I apply a laminate same color as new doors?

There are companies that specialize in installing/selling new fronts for cabinets. Check the yellow pages.

Being a website that encourages do it yourself projects, I encourage michaell1999 to research ways to tackle this.

Changing doors will definitley change the look of the cabinets. Doors define the look of most kitchen cabinets. Except for side panels and maybe some trim, they cover the area that you see the most of. Refacing will not entirely change the look of the white cabinetry behind the doors. Most white cabinetry is white inside and out, and either made out of melamine or RTF. If you want to get rid of the white altogether, you need to either get new cabinets, or paint the ones you have. Covering them completely with another laminate - well - you might as well get new cabinets.
If you can deal with the white inside the cabinets, but want to change the look outside, It's more feasable with laminate, but still very labor intensive, and you still may not end up with a satisfactory result.

Have you looked into the possibility of painting them?
