Tung oil turning white...

I have recently started applying a layer of 100% tung oil to my newly stripped doors and mouldings, but they are getting white patches. I think the wood type may be a dark cherry. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

What type of finish did you strip off the cherry before you oiled it? And what did you strip it with? Stripper or solvents?

check the website for the tung oil manufacturer, and/or see if there is an '800' number on the can. Chances are they have some sort of tech support you can call and talk to a live person. I've done that several times and usually get very good advice.

my (somewhat educated) guess is that there is some leftover contamination from the stripping process.
