I would like to know how to make a split door for daughters bedroom. Where you can close to bottom and keep the top open. Thanks for all assistance.

That type of door is often reffered to as a 'dutch door'. Alot depends on what type of door you start with. If you just want to modify a hollow core luan or birch door, it would be realitivly simple - cut the door in two, allow space if needed and cut and install wood in the bottom of the top piece and top of bottom piece, add hinges and hardware.
Dutch doors often have a ledge on the top of the bottom section. If making the door from scratch just remember you are building 2 doors that are just short and use the same opening.
Forgot to mention that there should be a latch of some type to secure the 2 sections together so it can be operated as 1 door when needed.
