cat-proof shelf

I want to put up a couple wall shelves, 2' wide.
Problem is the cats jump up on the shelf and the wood brackets came loose. What is the strongest way to fasten them on? Its drywall.

Use a product called EZ Toggle 90, found at the orange big box, and maybe blue, not sure. It self screws into the wall, and when you put the screw into it and tighten down, it forms a toggle behind the wall. It will hold 90 lbs vertical weight, plus or minus a cat. Glad you are adapting rather than abandoning the cat's favorite places.

Thanks. I found the product and it seems to be perfect. Its being cat tested and has passed the test!
