Question reattaching formica to wall unit

Any advice on how to re-attach formica to a custom wall unit? It has popped of in many places. Know of any particular glue that would work? Would it be cost effective to have all the formica removed and replaced with a wood veneer? Thanks!

You need to use contact cement. For a DIY'er, perhaps the easiest thing to use would be a can of Contact Spray Adhesive. You spray both surfaces, let them tack up for 20 minutes or so, then press them together, and apply heavy pressure with a j-roller, or if you don't have one, a rolling pin might work. Tapping the edges down with a smooth faced hammer is also a good idea.

The challenging part of contact adhesive is that you have to have the pieces EXACTLY where you want them as you begin to press them into place. Once you start to glue a piece on, you can't adjust it left, right, up or down.
