Dog gouges in window sill

My dogs have left deep gouges in one painted window sill, and scratch marks on others. They have also left scratch marks on a couple of stained window sills and a stained wall. How can I repair these?

Thanks so much for any guidance you can provide.

Welcome to the forums

Fixing the scratches and gouges on the painted wood is easy - sand off what you can and fill the rest with spackling or wood filler, don't forget to prime before repainting.

Scratches on stained woodwork are difficult to repair. Sometimes restaining will help or filling the gouges with colored putty. It may be necessarry to sand out the defects and restain. If it is really bad, replacement might be necessarry.
