Tambour door - appliance garage help

We remodeled our kitchen last summer and we have an appliance garage that's giving us fits! The door won't stay down! It gradually creeps up - quite a bit in fact. Is there any way to adjust the tension on the door once it is installed? Thanks.

Your spring is set too tight. Easier to adjust before installation obviously, but can be done after. Be prepared to bend like a pretzel to get your head in there to see where the screws are. I try to install appliance garages so they are fairly easily removed, because of possible future tambour door problems. Removing trim, and in some cases, caulk is neccesary.

Maybe you can remove it and reinstall after adjusting the spring?
