Rockler Bowrench for Decks

Has anyone ever used one of these? It looks like a great tool but if it was so great they would have it in stores, right! I am getting ready to tackle another deck and would like some feedback on this item before I buy it if possible. There is no feedback or reviews on the website so I'm checking here. Like I said, it looks useful and the old chisel in the joist technique gets old.
Thanks for the help.

This is what I'm talking about if anyone wants to check it out.

Looks like it would work, but if you're only building one deck, you can use a 4-5' 2x4 pryed against a small scrap of 2x clamped to the joist with a quick clamp.

I have used a friend's, and love it, but just can't seem to part with $55 for a couple of pieces of metal welded together. I will probably fabricate something like it with my welder someday, but for now, wedges and 2x4's will suffice.

Thanks for the input. I'll keep my eyes open on Ebay but will probably just go with the old faithful techniques.

Thumbs up It is worth the money!

I used mine last year to build our deck (14 x28) and it was a lifesaver as I had many boards that needed "encouragement". Sure $55 isn't cheap, but it is very well made and in the big picture of how much the wood costs to build a deck an extra $55 was well worth the investment. If you will be laying the deck boards by yourself you will find that the Bow Wrench is very quick to set up and then you are hands free to fasten the decking.
