Cool measurements on wooden chest

I'm building a wood chest box and have exact measurements ,everything fits and lined up perfectly, almost completed, finished sanding both bottom and hinged lid and thenn placed it back ontop as uasual and put hardware on (hinges and trim borders),then somehow the lid is no longer fitting exact!!How could this be when I had everything lined up and fitting exactly before putting on the hinges and trim???Any ideas??

first I would take the hinges off and try

if it fits then the hinges need adjusting

if not then you need to adjust the trim

its one of the two
