4.5' x 5' MDF board

I am planning to make a ping pong table. The standard size of a ping pong table is 5' x 9' or 2 halves of ( 5' x 4.5') joined in the middle. Where can I get MDF boards of 5'x 4.5'. I looked at lowes, Home depot etc..they carry 4' x 8' as the maximum size, Where can i get the odd size MDF or those that i can get cut to the right size.

Thanks,

You'll probably need to go a regular lumber yard or specialty wood store. The big box stores normally don't carry odd sizes like that. below is a link to a website that will help you find a store in your area.

That's definitely a specialty store item.

I wouldn't recommend trying to get two pieces and joining them (biscuits, dowels, etc.) because the MDF will not be strong enough to support it's own weight unless otherwise supported from underneath. If you're planning on having cross pieces on the underside of the table, you could try to join them, but you'll have to do a really precise job to make sure you don't get a seam and that the entire top is flat.
