what should i use to stick glass marbles to wood?

im redoing a coffee table.. the table has a raised edge so i decided to put marbles in the center. once there set a peice of glass on will go on top.

the problem is how do i get the marbles to stick to the wood and stay. the substance needs to be clear and stick to wood and glass.

i was thinking polyurathane or hot glue.
ive never really worked with polyurathane and i have a feeling hot glue may not be strong enough.

any suggestions would be helpful

If the marbles will be under the glass and not supporting the glass, and will be glued to wood not paint, either hot glue or a clear epoxy might be the way to go. If the marbles will support the glass, a pourable clear epoxy such as is used for bar tops might be appropriate.
