Question HELP Mold/mildew on my MDF

I recently built a desk and bookshelf combination for my wood shop. I should have taken the time to finish it, but I didn't. It's totally unfinished, no sealer, no nothing. Not that I'm sure that would have made a difference. Here's why:
Monday after a torrential downpour my sump pump died and I woke up to 7" of water in my basement. That's right, my wood shop is in the basement. Most of my stuff is on 3" casters, but with 7" of water needless to say everything got wet.
I got the mess cleaned up or so I thought. Today I was moving the dehumidifier around and noticed the whole side of my new desk is already starting to mold.
I know bleach will kill it, but what will it do to the MDF??? Is there any salvaging it or am I going to spend a great deal of time rebuilding it???

It may already be too late, depending on how wet the desk was. Water and MDF do not mix well. But if it has not swelled from water, wipe it down with a diluted bleach mixture, don't leave it for more than a minute or so and wipe it off. Then wipe with alcohol. Seal it quickly, if not too late.
Good Luck.
