Glue a series of blocks on each side of the split with a hot melt gun(easily removed later), force wood glue(I like Titebond or Tightbond II) into the cracks with a syringe or similar, use clamps to pull the blocks until dry(wipe off squeeze out with damp sponge). Then pop off the blocks. Some touch up and sanding may be needed.

What are you trying to repair, the stringers or the treads? If the treads, just pry them up and replace them. Be careful not to scratch up the skirt board as you remove them. Make your cuts precise, measuring the width at the back and the front, and determine the squareness from the riser using a framing square, cutting the angle really close. That way you will get a good fit.
