stairs

right now in my basement, i have 2x10's as stairs. they r a straight run, no cut-in type stringers. could i take a pre-cut stringer they sell in HD, hold it up to the current 2x10, and trace out the stringer cut pattern like that?

Stringer

Stair stringers are designed to fit the space. What is the height from the top floor to the bottom floor? What is the horizontal run distance?

The quick answer is NO. I would not even use those things for real stairs, too irregular.
