WOOD GLUE
#1

I am a novice wood worker. I am building a bookcase which requires joining. What is the best method for removing excess, dried wood glue from the joint seam?

Bart:
If the wood is unfinished, I use hot water and rags along with a tooth brush to remove the squeeze out before it sets up or soaks in.
If the wood is finished, I let it dry in place, then remove it with a sharp chisel laid so as to just catch the edge and lift the glue.
