Well, I've used several models. I suppose it depends on how much you will be using the planer and how much you want to spend. The larger dewalt (3 blades) is pretty sweet. The fan assisted chip discharge is great, especially with the hood and a hose to funnel the chips into a barrel. But I've also used a Makita 2012 that is a nice portable planer. Quiet and light. Pricy tho. Delta makes a good one too. I know nothing about the PC planer. Chip discharge is a big item if you want to keep the shop relatively clean, because planers make a mess. IMO the bigger dewalt wins that one hands down.

I use the Ridgid 13" planer and have good success with it. Little sniping, and it is usually my fault, not the machine's. Chip discharge chute that fits right up to a vacuum system.

Tow Guy's using a Ryobi that I've been real happy with.
