Glue won't accept stain but the sawdust will, so it's hard to say. How big is the repair?

Sometimes some leftover glue is missed when prepping a piece for stain. In these instances, I've had decent results with taking 120 grit sandpaper and working the wet stain in with the sandpaper - make sure you go with the direction of the stain!
