Best glue for plastic
Ok...not wood or carpentry stuff...but this will get lots of looks I hope.
Assembled a new stationary bike for the gym today and the black plastic chain guard was cracked and pieces broken off during shipping.. Can't find any markings on it to indicate type of plastic but I'm thinking it might be some sort of ABS. It's pretty stiff and hard and can't be bent w/o breaking. Sort of like what you would see on a boombox or plastic cased power tool?
I've used super glue in the past to seal splits and put small pieces back in place...but it can't take any real stress.
Just wondering if ABS pipe cement might be better to weld pieces back together and then a plastic epoxy on the inside to reinforce? Looks not that important.
What have you guys found to be the best?

JB Weld is good. Loctite makes some good products for this too, including a double-barreled epoxy. All of these should be on the wall at Big Orange - have fun reading the labels.
