Hi Everyone, Just got new solid hardwood floors installed. Now how in the heck do I put new 4 1/4" high base baseboard trim around this corner? The old height was 3 inches and had carpeting. Nothing was under the bookshelf. And there was a piece of brown trim all away across the side, as you can see in the picture were it was ripped off. I would like to put just put quarter round under the over hang of the shelf (quarter round is going every were else in the room) And then a piece of 4 1/4 trim along the side, but I do not know know to cut the conner so it looks nice since the trim height this higher the the over hang part. Hi all, I've just moved into a rented apartment which has a rather poor quality join between a laminate and linoleum floor: [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/SG5BeqB.jpg[/IMG] Yes, that's a strip of duct tape covering the join. I wish I'd noticed it before we moved in, because I would've asked the landlord to sort it out - but there we go. I'd quite like to fix this myself, rather than organising a handyman through the landlord. I'm planning on using a transition strip (like [url=http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41SPikZ8cAL._SS270_.jpg]this[/url]) that will taper out the height difference - that shouldn't be a problem. What I'm stuck with is what to do with the quarter-round moulding, once I've installed the transition strip. At the moment, it's just sort of at an angle over the two different floor heights. Once the strip is in, ideally I'd like something a little more elegant than it just being raised up off the floor on the lino side. I estimate that the height difference is around 10mm (3/8"). Does that make sense? Anyone got any ideas for what I can do? Please bear in mind that I can't re-do either of the floors, because I don't own the property. Thanks :)
