Garage Perimeter Shelving
Hello!
We are going to put up some shelving around the perimeter of our garage. We are just planning on placing a bracket at each (or every other) stud and then using plywood. The question I have, is what depth would everyone suggest? Also, how high off of the ground?
Thanks!

Depends on what you want to use it for. If it's going to be for storage of seasonal items like winter clothes, Christmas decorations, etc...then determine what size container or box you will use and place the shelves with enough clearance from the ceiling to be able to slide them in and out.
Kinda the same for the depth...but 16" is normally a good start. You can actually buy shelf boards in white melamine coated particle board that size. Thats what I have in my garage and it works just fine. Nicer looking and less work to install....no ripping the plywood down to size.
You can probably go every other stud. Easy enough to add more later if you see bowing.

Oh...another thing that helps is to screw a 2x2 cleat to the skipped stud That will support the back of the shelf. Only has to be 6" long or so and attached with a 3 1/2" deck screw.
Like I said...all depends on usage.
