Replacing bath cabinet in 47" wall to wall area

I'm replacing a wall to wall bath cabinet in an area that is 47 inches wide. I'm trying to use semi-custom cabinetry to hold down costs, but the pre-builds are either 48 or 42 inches wide. It looks like the installer of the current cabinet shaved about an inch off the right side of the cabinet to get it to fit. Local store is telling me that there's just 3/8 of an inch lip on each side of the cabinet. Any idea on how to make a 48inch fit or how to make a 42 inch look wall to wall? Thank you!

Welcome to the forums! Replacing the cabinet is one thing. Replacing the countertop is another, and that is where you will have trouble. A 42" cabinet can be placed in the opening and two 2 1/2" wing trims of matching material can be attached through the stiles with screws. The only way to get a countertop to fit will be to cut it on the end to make it slightly less than 47" and install trims on both ends to match the countertop.
